Kathleen graduated with a degree in Sustainable Development in May 2013. While in school, she learned the delicate skill of balancing farming with being a student, artist, and bicycle advocate. She was also the lead singer for Boone's only girl garage rock band, LISΔ FRΔNK.
Kathleen is now the owner/operator of Waxwing Farm, a project began in 2012. Originally incubated through the Farm Incubator Grower Project (the FIG Project), Waxwing Farm has graduated to land just down the road in Valle Crucis at Maverick Farms.
Kathleen focuses on using agroecological methods in an intensive mixed vegetable production system. You can find her produce through the multi-farm High Country CSA, at the Watauga County Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings from May-November, and at several smaller area markets throughout the summer.
