Be professional

You must perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the position in a professional manner. Abide by the personnel policies of the agency; maintain regular and prompt attendance; and contact the appropriate supervisor when questions arise. Treat your internship as seriously and with as much professionalism as you would any other job. Do not expect special treatment as an employee because you are a student intern. If you do not live up to your responsibilities, your on-site agency supervisor can fire you, which will result in a grade of Unsatisfactory (U). The evaluation of your work provided by your on-site agency supervisor will also be considered as part of the several factors determining your grade. A mediocre or poor evaluation combined with poor performance in other assignments will result in a grade of Unsatisfactory (U).
